Despite the uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic to so many areas of our lives, the one thing that seems true no matter your circumstances, is that our homes become an important anchor. The need to surround ourselves with the familiar is, I'm sure the brain's sub-conscience way of providing comfort and security when so much else is uncontrollable. So, one of the many reasons why I do the job I do, is to provide that comfort in the familiar. The fabric may change, the comfort may be improved but the shape and size of your favourite chair is still the same.
And so it was for a recent client who had fond memories of their dining chairs. The quality of the wood and design was undeniable, but the fabric was faded and the foam and board had definitely seen better days. Having made up their mind that the chairs needed some tlc if they were to stay, the hunt was on for some worthy fabric. We worked through some samples that made it plain what they didn't want, so when the right fabric appeared it was an easy choice ! Et Voila ! Stunning fabric gave these chairs the makeover they needed and now they take pride of place.
